What counts as a referral?
Any client you introduce to SwellFi who closes a financing deal with us within 12 months of your introduction. We attribute the deal to you in our system at the moment of referral, so there’s no question about who gets credit.
Is there a cost to participate?
No. The program is free to join. There’s no monthly fee, no minimum referrals, no exclusivity required. You only earn when a referred deal closes.
What if my client doesn’t qualify?
We tell them honestly and help them understand what they’d need to qualify in the future. We don’t push them into the wrong product. Your relationship with the client is preserved either way.
Are there any compliance or disclosure requirements?
For SBA loans specifically, the SBA requires disclosure of any agent involved in the transaction. We handle the disclosure paperwork on our side. CPAs and attorneys may have additional client disclosure obligations on their end. We recommend consulting your professional ethics guidance.
How fast do referred clients get contacted?
Within 24 hours of submission, usually same day. Tom handles initial calls personally so your client gets a real conversation, not a junior rep reading a script.
What if I want to refer a client but they’re not ready for financing yet?
Refer anyway. We do free 15-minute capital-readiness conversations. If they’re not ready, we’ll tell them what they need to do to get ready, and they can come back when timing is right. You still get credit for the referral.
Can I refer clients outside Florida?
Yes. SwellFi works with clients nationally. We’re headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida but our lender network covers all 50 states.
What’s the partner agreement like?
A simple, one-page document signed digitally. Specifies the commission structure, payment timing, confidentiality terms, and how either party can end the partnership. Attorney-reviewed, fair to both sides.
